Périhélie Labs est un laboratoire d'expérimentation créative. Nous construisons des logiciels, des expériences interactives, des objets numériques.
Certains projets aboutissent. D'autres s'approchent du soleil et disparaissent. Nous pensons qu'un logiciel ou une application peut être une forme d'art à part entière. Que la poésie peut être du code et que du code peut être de la poésie.
La poésie naît des contraintes. C'est le principe du jeu, et de toute règle. Dans un monde où tout est possible — communication instantanée, hypersaturation de littéralement tout — nous croyons à un retour de l'impossible. Non pas comme limite, mais comme une barrière à soulever et à dépasser. Le possible est la vraie limite.
Nous croyons aussi aux exceptions. Dans nos logiciels toute règle doit avoir une exception qui la confirme. Une règle sans exception est en soi une règle — à moins que ce ne soit une exception.
Nous croyons donc aux paradoxes. Donc à l'impossible.
Nous utilisons la distance dans nos logiciels pour pousser les gens à se rapprocher, ou à s'oublier, si c'est leur trajectoire. Nos logiciels sont construits sur l'oubli et le vide. Que nous remplissons simplement avec du code.

Perihelie Labs is a creative experimentation laboratory. We build software, interactive experiences, digital objects.
Some projects succeed. Others approach the sun and disappear. We believe that a piece of software or an application can be a form of art in its own right. That poetry can be code, and that code can be poetry.
Poetry is born from constraints. That is the principle of play, and of every rule. In a world where everything is possible — instant communication, hypersaturation of literally everything — we believe in a return of the impossible. Not as a limit, but as a barrier to be lifted and surpassed. The possible is the true limit.
We also believe in exceptions. In our software every rule must have an exception that proves it. A rule without exception is in itself a rule — unless that is the exception.
We therefore believe in paradoxes. Therefore in the impossible.
We use distance in our software to push people closer together, or to forget each other, if that is their trajectory. Our software is built on forgetting and emptiness. Which we simply fill with code.

Manche Projekte gelingen. Andere nähern sich der Sonne und verschwinden. Wir glauben, dass ein Stück Software oder eine Anwendung eine eigenständige Kunstform sein kann. Dass Poesie Code sein kann, und dass Code Poesie sein kann.
Poesie entsteht aus Einschränkungen. Das ist das Prinzip des Spiels, und jeder Regel. In einer Welt, in der alles möglich ist — sofortige Kommunikation, Hypersättigung von buchstäblich allem — glauben wir an eine Rückkehr des Unmöglichen. Nicht als Grenze, sondern als eine Barriere, die es zu überwinden gilt. Das Mögliche ist die wahre Grenze.
Wir glauben auch an Ausnahmen. In unserer Software muss jede Regel eine Ausnahme haben, die sie bestätigt. Eine Regel ohne Ausnahme ist an sich eine Regel — es sei denn, das ist die Ausnahme.
Wir glauben daher an Paradoxe. Also an das Unmöglichen.
Wir nutzen die Distanz in unserer Software, um Menschen einander näher zu bringen, oder um sie einander vergessen zu lassen, wenn das ihre Trajektorie ist. Die Software, die wir bauen, ist auf Vergessen und Leere aufgebaut. Die wir einfach mit Code füllen.

Одни проекты находят своё воплощение. Другие приближаются к солнцу и исчезают. Мы верим, что программа или приложение может быть самостоятельной формой искусства. Что поэзия может быть кодом, а код — поэзией.
Поэзия рождается из ограничений. Таков принцип игры и любого правила. В мире, где всё возможно — мгновенная коммуникация, гиперперенасыщение буквально всего — мы верим в возвращение невозможного. Не как предел, но как барьер, который нужно поднять и преодолеть. Возможное — это и есть настоящий предел.
Мы также верим в исключения. В нашей программе каждое правило должно иметь исключение, которое его подтверждает. Правило без исключения само по себе является правилом — если только это не исключение.
Мы верим, следовательно, в парадоксы. Следовательно, в невозможное.
Мы используем дистанцию в наших программах, чтобы сблизить людей — или дать им забыть друг друга, если такова их траектория. Программы, которые мы создаём, построены на забвении и пустоте. Которую мы просто заполняем кодом.

Algunos proyectos llegan a buen puerto. Otros se acercan al sol y desaparecen. Creemos que un programa o una aplicación puede ser una forma de arte por derecho propio. Que la poesía puede ser código, y que el código puede ser poesía.
La poesía nace de las limitaciones. Ese es el principio del juego, y de toda regla. En un mundo donde todo es posible — comunicación instantánea, hipersaturación de literalmente todo — creemos en un retorno de lo imposible. No como límite, sino como una barrera que levantar y superar. Lo posible es el verdadero límite.
También creemos en las excepciones. En nuestro software toda regla debe tener una excepción que la confirme. Una regla sin excepción es en sí misma una regla — a menos que eso sea la excepción.
Por lo tanto creemos en las paradojas. Por lo tanto en lo imposible.
Utilizamos la distancia en nuestros programas para empujar a las personas a acercarse, o a olvidarse mutuamente, si esa es su trayectoria. El software que construimos está edificado sobre el olvido y el vacío. Que simplemente llenamos con código.
